Mt Baw Baw is Melbourne’s closest downhill ski resort, located only 2.5 hours east of the CBD. With 7 lifts (3 T-bars, 2 Platters and 1 Poma plus a “magic carpet”), Mt Baw Baw is the perfect place for school groups to learn to ski or practice skiing or boarding skills. Set amongst the snow gums, Mt Baw Baw’s slopes are protected from the elements and are great for students to be set free but not set loose!

The mountain’s toboggan runs are always extremely popular with first time visitors to the snow. Cross country skiing is a great group activity; there are 10km of cross country trails within the resort which connect to a wider network of trails in the Baw Baw National Park. Guided snowshoe tours around the resort are also available for groups and offer insight into the natural environment, snow and resort management. Mt Baw Baw is the perfect place for beginners to learn how to ski or snowboard. Join a Snow Sports lesson with one of our highly qualified instructors who will ensure you have a safe and fun learning experience to suit your skills, ability and goals.

Mt Baw Baw’s intimate village setting provides all the necessities for an enjoyable school trip. The Village Restaurant offers spectacular views of West Gippsland and Western Port Bay. The Baw Baw Plateau is the only place in Australia where you can be in the snow and see the ocean!
