The Resort offers a variety of accommodation options ranging from backpacker and dorm style accommodation to hotel rooms, lodges, full self-contained apartments and cabins.

Some of the accommodation at the Resort is inclusive of linen. However, the majority require the guests to provide their own.

If at all unsure we advise checking with our Guest Services Team prior to your arrival. Linen can be provided by the Resort at an additional cost, but needs to be organised in advance.

During the declared snow season it is a legal requirement to carry chains when travelling to Mt Baw Baw. 

Both the Ladder and the Diamond pattern chains are acceptable. However we recommend usage of diamond pattern.

You will be directed by Mountain Staff when and where to fit your chains.  Depending on the snow fall this generally takes place once you have passed the Gate Entry.

Our staff may be able to direct you in chain fitting however they are NOT able to fit your chains on your behalf so please ensure you are aware of how to fit the chains properly prior to traveling up the mountain. We recommend that you bring gloves, a plastic sheet, and a torch (if fitting at night) for when you are required to fit and remove chains.

It is also important to note that it can snow at any time throughout the year, during the Green Season chains can at times be needed.

Unfortunately there are not child care facilities on the Resort. Children should be supervised at all times. During the White Season the Resort Management does operate a comprehensive Kids Club with activities daily over weekends and School Holidays. For more info click here.

During the White Season group activities such as craft making and snowmaking tours can be booked through Guest Services. Charges may apply.

During both the declared Snow season and the Green season, there is a levy for entry into the resort. This fee and other levies such as Toboggan passes and cross country fees contribute to the infrastructure and services required to keep the resort's ski areas in tip top shape. Your fees contribute to various expanses including and snowmaking, grooming, lift maintenance and the slashing of the runs. 

There is strictly NO camping permitted within the Resort, however, those wishing to camp can do so in the Baw Baw National Park.  As a general guide, the park boundary is approximately 20 meters from the perimeter of the Village Trail. A good area to camp is left of West Tanjil Creek, off the St Gwinear Link Trail. For further details please contact Parks Victoria on 13 19 63.

During the White Season our transportation service can meet you at Warragul train station and is timed with the regular morning V/Line service from Melbourne or the Gippsland area.

Our services run Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bookings are required and must be booked 24hours prior to departure.

During the Green Season bus transfers are available for groups from Warragul or Moe. For costs, bookings or enquiries please call  03)5165 1136.

Mountain Top Experience can do direct pick up and return transfers from Melbourne Airport and other Gippsland areas.  Mountain Top can cater for 2 – 11 passengers with luggage.  For further information please contact Mountain Top direct on 03 5134 6876.

The Resort does not have a supermarket or petrol station. It is wise to ensure that you have the basics to suit your self-catering needs before you arrive. Some grocery items, clothing, milk, bread and souviners can be purchased from the Resort’s retail shop located in Snowgum Lodge. During the Green Season you can get your souviners and basic groceries from the Village Central Restaurant.

Petrol is available from Neerim South & Rawson. The Rawson Petrol Station is closed on Tuesday & Thursday.

Quite a few hire car companies place restrictions on driving their vehicles in Alpine environments. Please check with your hire car provider for further details.

Europcar is one provider that allows travel in Alpine areas.

Unfortunately, pets cannot be brought into the Resort. This is due to the resorts location within the Baw Baw National Park. The resort has a strict no pet policy.

During the White Season, the Resort does not guarantee snow during your visit.  In times of limited snow the Resort offers a range of alternative recreational activities, particularly for children. These can include craft workshops, games, movies and snowplay (which can occur in limited snow).  The Resort strongly recommends that guests obtain travel insurance to protect against loss of personal belongings, public liability, adverse weather conditions and cancellation fees.

During the Green Season there are also a number of exciting events. Including the Down to Earth Festival in January - featuring our Australian  environment and it's cultures. There are also Mountain Bike and Road Cycling events on the calendar.

Yes.  Mt Baw Baw can offer school groups and large social groups discounts on lift & lesson passes, mountain entry, and other activity charges.  Speak directly with our Guest Services Department to find out more information.

During the White Season the Resort has an oversnow service that can transport your luggage from the car park to your accommodation within. Oversnow is $30 per trailer load. During busy times we recommend booking in advance. For further details, phone our Guest Service department on (03) 5165 1136.

Mt Baw Baw is beautiful all year round with sweeping valley views, enjoyable walks and spectacular wildflower displays during Summer.  During Winter, the general average snowfall is approximately 30cm at the bottom of the hill ranging up to 1m at the Resort’s highest point.

The Alpine Hotel, Kelly's Café, Village Central and Skiosk are all located in the Alpine Village at Mount Baw Baw and provide meals and snacks. All but Skiosk are licensed venues. Skiosk provides quick snacks and hot drinks for when you are out and about on the mountain in the Winter.

Kelly's Café provides an extensive menu including breakfast, lunch and dinner for all the family to enjoy.

Village Central with the Sea 2 Sky Restaurant and Sunset Bar, provides a cosmopolitan type setting for all meals and après-ski  drinks with stunning views down to the valley and back across the ski slopes.

Alpine Hotel provides value for money meals at the Rider's Bite Café, or you can relax over a drink in the Powder Lounge. For a night out the Sports Bar located at the Alpine Hotel is a great place to catch up with friends. The Alpine Hotel offers nightlife entertainment, pool tables, and games room.

Most lodges are happy to store your luggage if you arrive prior to check in time. Cabin, Apartment and Hotel accommodation have no storage places for luggage, we recommend if you arrive early to leave your luggage in your car and book an over snow for your check in time at the Guest Services Department upon your arrival at the resort.
