The 2010 winter season brings a new dimension of Freestyle riding to Mt Baw Baw, through the introduction of a range of Progression Parks that incorporates the whole mountain into your riding experience. With freestyle features catering from first timers right through to the advanced riders. We’ve introduced numerous amounts of in-house custom designed features around the mountain.
Including: a Competition Staircase, Rainbow Rails, a Timber Cannon Box, Kickers (snow dependant), Picnic Tables, Butter Boxes, Bonks and Jibs just to name a few… and for those who do go on the search, you never know what might find hidden in those gum trees!

The Park Crew are highly experienced in design, construction and maintenance of the park features. Some members of the Park Crew are also highly qualified snowboard/ski instructors. All have been involved in the industry and have been riding/skiing for numerous seasons. Look out for the Park Crew on the hill, stop and have a chat, give us your feedback, opinions and ask for info/tips.

Along with the groomers the Park Crew start work early in the park before the lifts open, right through the day to well after the lifts close. Constantly working to keep the park areas up to the highest standard possible. This is achieved by constant grooming, introduction of new, alteration of and relocating of, the parks' features. And most importantly, listening to your feedback and ideas - ITS YOUR PARK!! TELL US WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE IN IT!
The Freestyle Code is a grading system that defines the size of park features, allowing you to quickly and easily identify the level of skill required. For quick reference, every park feature is defined by size, shape and colour using the following system:

The Freestyle Code has three main points. How to: Prepare, Perform & Progress
Prepare
- Locate freestyle areas suable for your ability.
- Familiarise yourself with the area before you use it.
Perform
- Think about your manoeuvre, speed, take off & body movements, as all will directly affect the outcome
- Do not attempt freestyle features unless you have sufficient ability and experience to do so safely.
Progress
- KNOW YOUR LIMITS. Ride within your ability level and build on your progress.
- If unsure how to use a feature, leave it and ride past.
