Ski & Snowboard

Escape the city and explore all that Mt Baw Baw Alpine Village has to offer

With 35 hectares of groomed runs, seven ski lifts, three snow play areas, 10kms of groomed x-country ski trails & unlimited terrain amongst the snowgums to explore.

Downhill Skiing

Mt Baw Baw is considered a ‘progressive’ mountain – the perfect place for beginners to learn to ski or snowboard in a safe and comfortable environment. We have 35 hectares of mainly beginner – intermediate ski runs, all of which are accessible by T-bar and poma lifts (no dis-mounting off chairlifts…perfect for the beginner). These seven lifts service a variety of runs, with the Summit lift line reaching the top of Mt Baw Baw.

Cross Country Skiing

In addition to the downhill runs there are a number of cross country trails offering access to other parts of the Baw Baw plateau. Cross-country skiing is a fantastic way to explore Mt Baw Baw, with over 10km’s of ski trails winding around the alpine Village there is a trail to suit all abilities from beginner to advanced. Access to the cross-country trails is free and equipment is available for hire on the mountain. A number of our cross-country trails are shared use meaning that skiers may come across people enjoying snowshoeing and dog sledding.

The mountain has sheltered ski runs, enthusiastic instructors and numerous snowsports programs make our mountain the perfect place to learn to snowboard or to improve your snowboarding skills. Snowboards, boots and bindings are available for hire on-mountain and at various outlets on your way to Mt Baw Baw. Group & Private Snowboard Lessons are available through our Snow Sports School.
