Big Air Bag
Come and practice your grabs, airs and spins with confidence and safety! This year, use of the Big Air Bag is FREE! What is the Big Air Bag? The latest training tool in winter action sports. A 9m wide by 15m long air filled cushion that is located behind a 2m high jump. This provides intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders with a soft landing to try new tricks and perfect old ones. Open on select weekend days, weather permitting – the Big Air Bag cannot operate in high winds, heavy snow/rain or dense fog. Please call ahead to see if the Big Air Bag is operating, ph 03 5165 1136
The mountain’s sheltered ski runs, enthusiastic instructors and numerous Snowsports Programs make this mountain the perfect place to learn to ski or snowboard. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, Mt Baw Baw is the perfect place to perfect your skills. Once you have built up your confidence, advance your techniques or pick up some freestyle moves at the terrain park. Being so close to Melbourne means you can drive up regularly to master your skiing or boarding…and before you know it you’ll be out-doing the instructors!
Howling Husky Sled Dog Tours
Enjoy the Mt Baw Baw surrounds, on a Dog Sled. Let a team of Husky Dogs take you to parts of the Resort you never knew existed.
Jake and his Huskys are located in the Village Bowl (just behind Skiosk cafe). Howling Huskys offer tours every day during the white season. Maximum of two people with a seven-eight dog team. Gift vouchers are available. Pre-book to avoid disappointment. Entry to Mount Baw Baw is not included in the tour price.
Powder Pup Snow Shoe Tour
Come along and let our puppies take you for a walk into the wild side of sled dog training. Gear up with your own pair of snow shoes and walking harness and be prepared for the most fun you have ever had walking a dog. As you journey into the trees with only the sound of crunching snow beneath your feet let your experienced guide teach you the fun we have training our snow dogs. You will help the puppies to learn and practise their commands as well as build their strength they need to one day be able to join our team of Howling Huskys. This tour is great for every age and ability and is the only one of its kind in Australia.
Tour is approximately 45 minutes in total including 15 minutes set up. Minimum is 2 adults, Limited daily tours available. Please book ahead. Note: Anyone under the age of 13 cannot walk a dog.

Come jump in to a sled and have a howling good time as one of our experienced mushers and a team of Howling Huskys take you for a memorable ride around the Latrobe trail! Along the way you will learn about your team, their jobs, the commands and the tradition of the sport. To end it all off you can meet your team with lots of pats, cuddles and pictures. A quick but exciting ride that is great for the kids!
Approximately 15 minutes in the sled – 15 minutes of pictures, pat/cuddles, questions hook and unhook team.

Hear the excitement of the dogs build as they get ready to take you on our Village tour. Jump in the sled and learn about the team of Howling Huskys you have running with you as our experienced musher educates you on the history and tradition of sled dogs. Along the way take in the amazing scenery and complete your tour with cuddles, pats and lots of photos. This tour is great for all ages!
Approximately 30 minutes in the sled- 15 minutes of pictures, pat/cuddles, questions hook and unhook team.

Baw Baw Back Country Tour
Come along on our Back Country tour as you are amazed by the strength and stamina of your team of Howling Huskys while out on the trail for an hour. During this tour you will get to know your team, from the smart ones to the cheeky ones. You will travel by dogsled amongst the snow gums and onto open plateaus. Take in the peacefulness of hearing nothing but the pitter-patter of the dog’s paws against the snow and the commands of your musher. If you’re feeling fit the musher might let you on the back of the sled. To complete your tour let one of our handlers bring you in to thank your team and answer any questions you may have, while the dogs enjoy the tasty treat they receive when they return from the trail.

Summit Sunset Tour
Your journey begins as you snuggle into the sled just before dusk and our team of Howling Huskys take you on an experience like no other in Australia! Sit back and relax as your large team begins the climb to the summit of Mt. Baw Baw. Once at the summit take a break to meet the team and be overwhelmed by the breathtaking views of the surrounding Baw Baw National Park. Learn about the dogs, the history of dogsledding and the reasons they love doing it. Continue along the trail and come to a stunning look out where your musher will share some local knowledge with you and leave you to enjoy a complimentary wine as you watch the sun set (of course your team of Howling Huskys will be right behind you also taking in the view!)

Spirit of a Sled Dog Tour
Be wide eyed by the beauty of Mt Baw Baws winter wonderland as you embark along the longest commercial dog sled trail in Australia. You are in for a howling good time as your guide and team of Howling Huskys take you to the summit and beyond on this half day tour. We start with very excited dogs as they love to run in the chilly morning air. Brave the task of learning how to harness your team, their positions, then we hook up and the real fun begins. So simply rug up jump in and hold on! First we head up the long hike to the summit where your musher will tell you a little about your team, the equipment, the history of the sport and breed but most importantly how to MUSH! So pay attention as you will need all the advice you can get when it’s your turn to drive. Enjoy the amazing open views before descending thought the labyrinth of snow gums towards the back end of Mt. Baw Baw. Now it’s your turn to jump on the back and hang on as your guide helps you to run your own team of huskies! After all that excitement we stop to enjoy the view and a complementary beverage and snack while warming our toes by the toasty campfire. But before long the dogs will tell us its time for the home run! Once home, take all the time you need to thank your beloved team as their work is done for the day!

Snowshoeing tours of the resort run daily and are a great way to explore the mountain. Your guide will provide information about the alpine environment and Resort operations. Book at Snow Sports Ticket office. Tours depart from Snowsports Ticket office throughout the day, for information on times and/or availability please contact Snowsports on 03 5165 1136.

Snow Mobile Rides
A ride on the Sherpa Snowmobile is a fun and exciting way to see the mountain. Jump on board and enjoy the 20 minute ride around the village and the cross country trails. Book at the Administration Building on mountain or call ahead to book 03 5165 1136. The snowmobile carries three passengers. These tours are dependent on the correct weather conditions and the availability of tour operators.
Prices: $35 Adult / $30 Child
