Mt Baw Baw has launched our summer camp program with the goal of sharing our unique alpine snow gum landscape with as many as we can!

The following information is valid for school groups only for bookings between November and April. Bookings may not be possible on school holiday and event weekends. For winter bookings see here

Walking / Orienteering Activities

The Resort has trained Outdoor education staff, is a Licenced Tour Operator and can lead your students on day walks around the village and into the National Park. Activities run on a 1:10 ratio in line with Outdoor Activity Standards.
Guided Bushwalk / Hike 
We'll explore the area beyond the summit and learn about the unique flora and fauna of the Resort & pleateau.

Dingo Walk Experience
Join one of our staff on a walk with our Alpine Dingoes. Each student will have the chance for a walk and a cuddle.

Frog Fact Walk
Suitable for primary aged groups, we'll follow the trail of frog signs, learning more about this critically endangered Baw Baw native as we go.

Orientation Skills
Includes a navigation skills session and group challenge

Mountain Biking

We can provide sequenced skills sessions for beginner mountain bike riders. Sessions run for up to 2.5 hours. Our maximum group size is 25 with a participant to leader ratio of 1:6. Sessions for more advanced riders may be arranged however additional costs may apply.
MTB Skills session (2.5hrs)
For beginner to low intermediate riders. We'll provide a safety briefing, basic bike skills and a riding progression session to improve your student's abilities. Additional charges may apply for groups of less than 6.

Team Based Activities & Intitiatives

Our qualified staff can plan and facilitate initiatives and team building activities for your group
Archery Attack & Laser Tag
Our outdoor Laser and Archery attack arenas provide the perfect opportunity for fun communication and team building sessions. Archery Tag combines dodgeball, paintball and archery. We'll divide your group into teams and sessions oto ensdure a maximum 7 per team

Japanese Snowball Fighting
Jump into our arena and learn the sport of Yukigassen. This is a team based, 7 vs 7 "capture the flag" style sport also available in winter using real snowballs.

Educational Walks and Talks

We can deliver an educational session to meet your primary, secondary or VET OES curriculum goals. 
Enviro Talk - Maximum 30 students per session
Covers history of the resort and it's environmental, social and economic impact. Typically aimed at VET OES students, this talk can be adapted and modified for students of all ages.

Meet the Dingo Experience - Maximum 10 students per session
Spend some time at our Dingo Resource Centre. Your students will learn about our alpine dingoes, their role in the ecosystem, finished up with a dingo cuddle session!

Off-Mountain Activities

The resort is the perfect base for a number of off-mountain activities in the surrounding Gippsland area. We can provide these activities for you with our own staff or using external providers.
Flat-Water Canoeing
Enjoy canoeing on the placid Blue Rock Lake Dam. Canoes, PFDs, helmets, paddles and all necessary equipment is provided.

We cater for all meals and dietary needs with our selection of meals and international chefs. During winter meals may be taken at the Village Central restaurant or Alpine Bistro depending on public bookings.

A wide selection of accommodation styles are available with prices from $25 per night.

  • Lodges are bunk style with group kitchen and separate (or in room) male/female/staff rooms and toilets

These lodges have been checked to meet Camp Accreditation standards. A large number of private lodges are also available and can be booked by contacting us or the lodge operators directly.

Capacity: 34 students / 6 teachers

The resort offers camping in the Nordic Bowl via booking. All other caming within the resort boundaries is restricted.
Nordic Bowl Camping
Capacity: 20 students (10 tent spaces)
Camp amongst the snow gums in the Nordic bowl. Toileting and showering facilities are located 200m from the campsite, in the warm eating area. A cleaning fee of up to $200 will be charged if rubbish or waste is left at the tent site.

Planning Resources

Getting Here
Option 1: Historic Tourist Road
The turn off from the Princes Highway (M1) is at Drouin/Mt Baw Baw exit, continue along via Noojee. The tourist drive is very picturesque but the road is narrow and winding.

Option 2: South Face Road
From the M1, take the turn off at the Moe exit and continue via Erica. Take the left turn off at South Face Road. South Face Road is 26km of unsealed road, but a good wide road & straighter than the Tourist Road.

Option 3: Scenic Suburbs
The best option from the eastern suburbs is to travel along the Warburton Highway, turning off at Yarra Junction which then joins the Tourist Road at Noojee.

Below is a list of bus lines that can travel to Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort. The resort provides a shuttle service for $15 pp return if your hired vehicle or driver is unable to enter beyond the Resort Entry gate for insurance reasons.

To make your visit as smooth as possible, the Resort can provide Risk Assessments for all activities. We can also provide the latest copy of our Public Liability Insurance on request.

Terms & Conditions

  • Teachers are free for most activities at a 1:8 ratio
  • Final student numbers must be updated 7 days before your trip, and cancellations after this time may incur a staff scheduling charge
  • For first time schools, payment must be made prior to arrival, with any changes in numbers less thatn 7 days out offered as credit for future visits
  • Returning schools who have a prompt payment record will be issued their invoice AFTER their trip, based on final attending numbers
  • Reissue of invoice due to changes less than 7 days may incur fees
  • These prices apply for weekdays only, extra fees may apply for weekend or school holiday bookings
  • All schools must agree to ther Resort's general Terms and Conditions as well as conditions above
