  • What accommodation do you have on the mountain?

    The Resort offers a variety of accommodation options ranging from backpacker, dorm style accommodation to, lodges, self-contained apartments and cabins.

  • Do I need to bring linen?

    Some of the accommodation at the Resort is inclusive of linen however the majority requires guests to provide their own. If you are unsure please check with our Guest Services Team prior to arrival. 

    Linen packs are available for hire from Guest Services at Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort. Linen Packs must be ordered at the time of booking or prior to arrival. The packs include: sheets, pillow cases, bath towel, hand towel, face washer and basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and soap). The cost of hire is, $30 for a Single and $40 for a Double pack (double includes 2 pillow cases and 2 towels).

  • Is there anywhere to store my luggage if I arrive early?

    Most lodges are happy to store your luggage if you arrive prior to the property’s check-in time. Cabin, apartment and backpacker accommodation have no storage facilities for luggage, we recommend if you arrive early to leave your luggage in your car and book luggage transport.

  • How can I get my luggage to my lodge?

    During winter the Resort has an over snow service that can transport your luggage from the car park to your accommodation within. Click here for more information.

  • Is there Public Transport to the mountain?

    Mountain Top Experience do direct pick up and return transfers from Moe Train Station and other Gippsland areas. Mountain Top can cater for 2 – 11 passengers with luggage. For further information please contact Mountain Top Experience directly on 03 5134 6876.

  • Can I get a transfer from the airport?

    Mountain Top Experience can do direct pick up and return transfers from Melbourne Airport and other Gippsland areas. Mountain Top can cater for 2 – 11 passengers with luggage. For further information please contact Mountain Top Experience directly on 03 5134 6876.

  • Can I bring a hire car to Mt Baw Baw?

    Quite a few hire car companies place restrictions on driving their vehicles in Alpine environments. Please check with your hire car provider for further details. Europcar is one provider that allows travel in Alpine areas.

  • Are there any childcare facilities?

    Unfortunately there are no child care facilities on the Resort. During winter, Kids Club is available daily over weekends and through the school holidays. For more info click here. Children should be supervised at all times.

  • Does the Resort offer group discounts?

    Yes. Mt Baw Baw can offer school groups and large social groups discounts on lift and lesson passes, Resort entry, and other recreational activity charges. Click here for more information, or call 03 5165 1136.

  • When is the best time to visit Mt Baw Baw?

    Mt Baw Baw is beautiful all year round with sweeping valley views, enjoyable walks and spectacular wildflower displays during summer. During winter, the general average snowfall is approximately 30cm at the bottom of the hill ranging up to 1m at the Resort’s highest point.

    As the snowfalls vary each season we can’t predict the snow fall however generally the best time to visit is late July, through August and early September. To be sure of our snowfalls, visit the Mountain Conditions

  • Why do I have to pay entry fees and levies?

    Entry fees and other levies contribute to the infrastructure and services required to improve and maintain the Resort’s ski areas. Your fees contribute to various enhancements for example, snowmaking, grooming, lift maintenance and the slashing of the runs.

  • Can I camp?

    Camping is not permitted within the Resort however, those wishing to camp can do so in the Baw Baw National Park. As a general guide, the park boundary is approximately 20 meters from the perimeter of the Village Trail. A good area to camp is left of West Tanjil Creek, off the St Gwinear Link Trail.   • What hotel/restaurant and shopping facilities are available on the mountain?

    The Alpine Village at Mt Baw Baw is home to a variety of licensed venues and café’s.

  • Can I buy food or petrol on the mountain?

    The Resort does not have a supermarket or petrol station. It is wise to ensure that you have the basics to suit your self-catering needs before you arrive. Some grocery items, clothing, milk, bread and souvenirs can be purchased from the Resort’s retail shop. During summer you can get your souvenirs and basic groceries from the Adventure Hub.

    Petrol is available from Moe, the Launching Place and Drouin.

  • Can I bring my pets?

    Unfortunately, pets cannot be brought into the Resort. This is due to the Resorts location within the Baw Baw National Park. The Resort has a strict no pet policy.

  • Do I need a lift pass?

    Are you a downhill skiier or snowboarder? If the answer is yes, then yes, you need a valid lift pass to ski or board on the mountain.

  • Do I need chains and where can I hire them?

    During the declared snow season it is a legal requirement to carry chains when travelling to Mt Baw Baw. Only the Diamond pattern chains are acceptable.

  • If it doesn’t snow can I obtain a refund?

    During winter, the Resort does not guarantee snow during your visit. In times of limited snow the Resort offers a range of alternative recreational activities, particularly for children. These can include craft workshops, games, movies and snow play (which can occur in limited snow). The Resort strongly recommends that guests obtain travel insurance to protect against loss of personal belongings, public liability, adverse weather conditions and cancellation fees.
